Residents of Igangan in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State on Sunday recounted their ordeals in the hands of Fulani herdsmen.
The community leaders, who spoke during a visit of the state government delegation to the town, stated that they had paid a total of N50m as ransoms for kidnappings carried out by herdsmen in the community.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has said that some opposition political parties in the state were behind the production of fake Amotekun Corps uniforms purportedly for hoodlums to disguise as personnel of the security outfit to cause violence in a bid to discredit Governor Seyi Makinde led government.
Oyo State Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde, has said some foreigners without proper documentation are contributing to the rising insecurity in the state.
The Oyo State Security Network Agency, also known as Operation Amotekun, has spoken on the killing of some bandits at Okebi village, Aiyede area in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of the state.
Most private and public schools in Oyo state did not open for academic activities on Tuesday morning.
