Super Eagles defenders Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem were randomly picked by the Confederation of African Football medics for dope tests on Saturday, Sports Extra reports.

The duo featured for the entire duration in Nigeria’s 3-2 win over Cameroon in the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.

The two players spent several hours with the CAF medical team before joining their colleagues at the Helnan Palestine Hotel beach resort.

The AFCON has not been known to record any positive dope test in its previous 31 editions.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles will arrive Cairo today (Monday) ahead of Wednesday’s AFCON 2019 quarter-final match against the BafanaBafana of South Africa, who beat hosts Egypt 1-0 to book a place in the quarter-finals.

The three-time AFCON winners will depart Alexandria for Cairo after lunch on Monday.

Sports Extra gathered that the team had a recovery session at the Helnan Palestine Hotel beach resort on Sunday.
