The Federal Government, through its National Food Security Council (NFSC), has distributed agricultural input to no fewer than 382,308 farmers across the country, the National Vice President of the Council, Atiku Bagudu has said.

Distributing the inputs to farmers in Kebbi State early in the week, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, who is also the governor of Kebbi State, stated that a total of 382,308 affected farmers were targeted to benefit from the intervention nationwide.

The distribution according to him was made possible under the Emergency Agricultural intervention to farmers affected by the 2020 flood in the National Food Security Council under the Chairmanship of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Earlier in her speech, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajia Sadiya Farouq, said the distribution of materials to farmers signified the commencement of yet another major landmark effort by the federal government to further support persons affected by the 2020 flood disaster.

“This intervention was approved to provide emergency agricultural input specifically to farmers that lost their crops as a result of the inundation of their farmlands and the cutting off of access to croplands during the flood disaster.”
