Odion Ighalo’s January move to Man United has been a revelation and it has been revealed that the Nigerian striker earns £8,000 per goal.

The former Nigerian international has so far scored four goals in eight matches, with all strikes coming in the Europa League and FA Cup. It is understood that the 30-year-old received a 40 percent pay-cut from his £300,000 weekly wages with the Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

But despite his six-month deal at Old Trafford, Ighalo has earned £32,000 extra on incentives owing to his performances for the Red Devils. In every United win recorded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, the former Watford striker pockets £9,000 and £3,000 for every draw.

According to British news outlet SunSport, Ighalo will also earn a huge incentive if he helps Solskjaer’s side qualify into the Champions League next season. An Old Trafford source said: “He earns his basic pay but also gets bits added on top of that to keep him ticking over.

“That includes a win and draw bonus, goals and things like winning trophies and getting into the Champions League.” Ighalo is looking to earn himself a new deal at the Theatre of Dreams if his current six-month contract expires at the end of the season.
